DX Antenna DSA-20MA DirecTV Multisatellite Dish with HDTV and Multiroom Capability

The dish has a built in level and adjusting bolts which allow you to adjust the arm which holds the dish to a precisely vertical orientation. This allows for very easy satellite acquisition. Very Easy Installation And Aiming

DX Antenna’s DSA-20MA DIRECTV multisatellite dish antenna is designed for use with up to 4 independently operating DIRECTV Receivers, providing not only reception for local stations but for DIRECTV’s PARA TODOS Spanish-language programming and even high-definition broadcasts. A suitable antenna site requires an unobstructed view of the southern sky, a stable antenna mounting surface, a distance of 100 feet or less for RG 6 (RF coaxial) cable from your antenna to your receiver, and nearby grounding.

The dish comes with a detailed user’s manual and installation guide including important safety precautions. Due to the many configurations possible, mast-mounting hardware is not included.

For installations where the RG 6 cable runs from the receiver(s) to the LNB exceeds 100 feet (say, 150 feet or more, as encountered in a commercial or multi-dwelling building), you’ll need to use an AC power-booster module to bias the LNB. You will also need an additional RF signal amplifier to compensate the signal loss to avoid frequent outages in adverse weather. Please contact a professional installer in these cases.

What’s in the Box
Satellite dish reflector, mounting hardware (4 bolts and 4 screws), LNB arm/antenna back assembly, triple-head, multi-satellite LNB mounting hardware, LNB mounting hardware (2 bolts and screws), a grounding screw, an EZALIGN mast, and a user’s/installation manual.

Note: Tools required for installation consist of: a 7/16 nut screwdriver, an adjustable wrench, a Phillips-head screwdriver, a magnetic compass, and an electric drill (with bit). Optional accessories include: mast-base mounting hardware, RG 6 coaxial cables with F-type connectors, grounding hardware (wire, wire clips, etc.), and a 6-inch plumbing level.

DX Antenna DSA-20MA Customer Reviews:

Bought to replace an aging 18″ round dual LNB antenna which had been in service since early 1999, plastic around LNB was cracked and some of plastic was missing. Didn’t need the arm that came with this new dish, used old arm which was already mounted on my chimney, but with the level bubble in the new arm looks like it would have been easy to install however.
Was a very easy swap out and easy to setup antenna used a compass and my wife stayed inside telling me the signal strength from directv box via our cell phones.
Including time to take out, setup & put away ladder total time was less than an hour.

I don’t have DirecTV HD yet, not enough content for the extra cost of monthly service and a new HD DTV box. But I will be ready when I do want it. I may add the Over Air antenna that mounts around this dish to get local channels in HD however, cheaper than what DTV charges and has almost as much content as DTV for what I want.

This was a excellent replacement for my old HR-20. No more B-band Converters. These B-band converters were always having to be replaced. The new HR-23 has the converters built in the receiver, so you don’t have to replace them when they start giving you a bad connection. Quality of picture looks better too. Faster also. It was a Nice upgrade.

DirecTV SWM Slimline 5LNB Complete Kit Reviews

DirecTV SWM Slimline 5LNB Complete Kit Reviews

  • Slimline SWM antenna from DIRECTV® is smaller, lighter, and great looking
  • SWM5 encompasses three LNBs to receive 101°- 110°- 119° degree satellites, plus the new KA satellites at 99°-103° for local HD MPEG4 programming
  • Use to pick up High Definition local channel programming from DIRECTV®
  • Slim Profile pleases Home Owner’s Associations
  • Unit includes AZ/EL Back Assembly

Here is the DirecTV SWM Slimline 5LNB Complete Kit Reviews

The SWM is the latest HD LNB setup for DTV customers. Signal reception is slightly better over the previous 5LNB and now you only need 1 line out from the satellite LNB’s (no matter how many recievers you have) with the power for the LNB’s no longer coming from the reciever. It is much easier to split the signal to several recievers and initial alignment is a bit more difficult for the DIYers. The picture on this item of the LNB is not of the SWM LNB. The SWM LNB has one line out and one large “egg like” oval in the center of it.

The FTA Channel

I can understand that movies, sport events, cartoons etc are commercialized by pay TV’s. It takes a lot of investment in order to create those programs. That is why pay-TV companies do their utmost to utilize them and make money. Many people need those TV programs and that means an opportunity for businessmen to run this section of entertainment businesses. However there is something which makes me confused. Why do they (pay-TV companies) pack FTA channels included the local ones and make them scrambled while they can be viewed as free-of-charge channels. I am not good at business calculation but the fact is they make money out of those TV programs.

Some pay-TV’s here even give a one-year limit for the local channels to be visible for their customers and beyond the limit the channels will be blank. Therefore, prospective customers should be very careful before they decide whether to subscribe to pay TV or to take the prepaid one or FTA only or mixed FTA and prepaid. As for me myself, I took the mixed one so that I still can watch FTA channels when my prepaid voucher runs out.

Of course the the parabolic antenna should be completed with actuator + positioner. As a matter of fact, there are a lot of worth-watching FTA channels many them are scrambled by Pay-TV companies, among other things BBC, Australia Network, Jim Jam, Fashion TV, NHK, Aljazeera etc. Furthermore, there are also worth-watching channels such as Living Asia Channels (Agila2), TV5 Global, the World Network, HCTV/cartoons, Russia Today, Pop Channel (Thaicom2), Euronews Asia, Luxe TV, Press TV/Iran, Saudi2(Asiasat2), Xing Kong, Arirang Arab, DW TV Asia +, Lotus/Macau (Asiasat3) etc.

Talking about Lotus/Macau, this channel is completely FTA and it always presents interesting western films all day long every day. Its programs are even much better than the real pay TV’s movies package such as HBO, HBO Signature, Star Movies, Cinemax and MGM. Just believe me that FTA channels are not always boring.
